Some of the comments from previous successful applicants at our other shows, where the Emerging Designer-Makers has been featured:

Annie Cracknell, Jeweller: “A great show not only because of sales but also the whole atmosphere.  I really left on a high because everyone was friendly and supportive and the setting was so lovely”.

Becca Williams, Contemporary Jeweller: “It was great to be surrounded by so many other people who were facing the same ‘start up challenges’ as we were, it gave us a real sense of communal support.  I think it’s sometimes easy to feel a little isolated when you move out of a big studio at uni and end up at home/in a workshop alone.  The camaraderie was just great plus, we traded a lot of ideas”.

Patrick Schroeter, Furniture Designer: “The feedback we received from visitors about the work and the Pavilion itself was overwhelmingly positive. I think this was in no small part down to our position in the Emerging Designer-Makers Pavilion and the enthusiasm and great efforts of the organisers”.

James Dougall, Silversmith: “Apart from the genuine excitement of being given a place in the Emerging Designer-Makers Pavilion, there was also the added thrill of putting together a properly curated collection for the show. Not having really presented either myself or my work to the public before, it turned out to be an extremely enjoyable experience”.
